What we build with brick
Our journeyman masons handle residential and light commercial brickwork of every size. Common projects in Turlock and the surrounding towns include brick columns and pilasters at driveways and gates, raised brick planters, garden and privacy walls, brick mailboxes, brick steps and landings, and brick wainscot on the front of a house.
We also install thin brick veneer, a real fired-clay brick cut to about an inch thick. It gives you the look of a solid brick wall on surfaces that cannot carry the weight of full brick, such as an existing stucco wall, an interior accent wall or a kitchen backsplash.
Brick that stands up to Valley weather
Central Valley summers push past 100 degrees and winters bring weeks of wet tule fog. Both are hard on masonry that was rushed. We set footings to the size the wall actually needs, lay every course to a line, tool joints so they shed water, and use mortar suited to the brick and the exposure. The result is brickwork that stays straight and tight for decades instead of cracking and spalling after a few seasons.
Sprinkler overspray and hard water cause the white staining (efflorescence) you see on a lot of brick around town. We talk through drainage, caps and sealing during the estimate so your new brick stays clean.
Matching existing brick
Adding on to an older home or replacing a damaged section? Matching brick color, size and mortar is one of the hardest parts of masonry. We source brick to blend with what you have and mix mortar color to match, so the new work does not stand out from the original.

Frequently asked questions
Do you build brick mailboxes and driveway columns?
Yes. Brick mailboxes and entry columns are some of our most requested small projects in Turlock and Modesto. We pour a proper footing, build the column, and can add caps, lighting or a house-number plaque.
What is the difference between thin brick and full brick?
Full brick is a structural masonry unit about four inches deep that needs its own footing. Thin brick is real clay brick cut to roughly an inch thick and adhered to a prepared wall. It looks the same once grouted, weighs far less and can go over many existing surfaces.
Can you match the brick on my existing house?
In most cases, yes. We bring samples to the site, compare color, texture and size, and tint the mortar to match before we start.
How much does brickwork cost?
It depends on the size of the project, the brick you choose and the site conditions. We give free, written estimates after looking at the job in person, so the price you see is the price for your project.
