Outdoor fireplaces
An outdoor masonry fireplace is a centerpiece. We build them on a proper footing with a block structure and firebox, then finish the face in stone veneer, brick or stucco with a hearth and mantle. Wood-burning and gas options are both possible. We help you plan placement, chimney height and clearance from the house, fences and trees.
Fire pits and seat walls
Fire pits are a smaller, social option. We build round and square fire pits in block, brick or stone, often surrounded by a matching seat wall so guests have a place to sit without dragging out chairs. Gas fire pits can be fitted with a burner and media. Wood fire pits are lined to protect the masonry from heat.
Indoor fireplace surrounds
Inside the home we update dated fireplaces with new stone or brick veneer surrounds, raised hearths and mantles, giving a living room a new focal point without replacing the firebox.

Frequently asked questions
Should I build a fireplace or a fire pit?
A fireplace is a vertical focal point that blocks wind and directs smoke up a chimney. A fire pit is lower, less expensive and lets people gather all the way around. Your yard size and how you entertain usually decide it.
Can you convert my fire pit to gas?
A gas line, burner and the right venting are needed. Gas work is coordinated with a licensed plumber, and we build the masonry to accept the burner kit.
Are there burn restrictions in the Valley?
Yes. The San Joaquin Valley Air Pollution Control District issues daily wood-burning status during the winter season. Many homeowners choose gas fire features so they can use them on any day. We can discuss both during your estimate.
